3/9 Member E-mail Update
Late this afternoon, we were able to reach a tentative agreement for a new collective bargaining contract with Allegheny County. As such, our 911 members will no longer strike this Saturday and we are calling off the rally at the St Patrick’s Day parade.
We’d like to thank the members of our bargaining team for their sustained effort over the last several months in fighting to secure a fair agreement that improves wages and protects the healthcare of our members.
We will update members on the terms of the tentative agreement on a Zoom call tomorrow, Thursday, March 10th at 6pm.
To RSVP for the Zoom meeting tomorrow, click here bit.ly/3HQsDsr or call RaChelle Johnson at 412-201-4407.
We’re setting up separate Zoom meetings for 911 members at different times to accommodate your shifts, though everyone is welcome to join the 6pm Zoom on Thursday.
Over the next few weeks, we will have in-person and Zoom informational meetings to share specific information about the tentative agreement and to hold contract ratification votes.

12/17/21 Update
Overall to date, we have made some progress in negotiations but are getting stuck around a few key items, which is concerning. We do not anticipate settling the contract before the holidays. There is one more bargaining session, next Wednesday, December 22nd. From there we will have a better understanding of where we are with the County and we will settle on additional dates for bargaining next year.
At the moment we are not planning to have a Zoom meeting for members on Thursday, December 23rd, but that is subject to change. We will make sure an email update goes out whether or not we schedule a Zoom meeting.
We need everyone to help communicate what’s going on with other members, and help mobilize co-workers to show union solidarity on upcoming bargaining days. In order to defend everything we already have won over the years and not lose ground with this contract, we must demonstrate to the County that we are united. Here’s how you can help:
- Sign the online petition: https://bit.ly/321NhXk It’s ok if you signed the paper version, too. When you sign the online version you can also volunteer to help with the contract campaign and make sure the union has your current contact information.
- Schedule a bargaining update meeting for your workplace in the New Year. Email local668@seiu668.org and include your work location in the email. Someone will get in touch with you to schedule.
- Encourage all of your coworkers to also get connected to the union by signing the petition. If they don’t want to sign they can update their personal contact info here: bit.ly/3kI2YJO
- Come to the next bargaining update Zoom meeting. We will resume holding these every Thursday again in the New Year. There is currently not a meeting scheduled for 12/23 but that is subject to change based on negotiations on 12/22.
- Bookmark this page where we will post updates: https://www.seiu668.org/news/allegheny-county-contract/
Please email local668@seiu668.org if you have any follow up questions.
